Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PithyFeed macOS application ("PithyFeed", "the app", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. License

Subject to these Terms, PithyFeed grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on Macs you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use. When you purchase the app from the Mac App Store, your use is also governed by the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"), which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. In case of conflict, the Standard EULA controls for Mac App Store purchases.

2. No account, no server

PithyFeed does not require an account and does not operate any server on your behalf. The app runs on your Mac and connects directly to feeds and websites you choose. See the Privacy Policy for details.

3. User-added content and third-party feeds

PithyFeed lets you subscribe to RSS feeds and websites chosen by you. The content of those feeds is the responsibility of the publishers that create it, and not of PithyFeed. You are responsible for complying with the terms of service and copyright of any feed you choose to subscribe to. PithyFeed does not host, cache, or redistribute third-party feed content beyond displaying it to you inside the app.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except to the extent permitted by law;
• use the app to violate the rights of others or to break applicable laws;
• remove or obscure any proprietary notices.

5. No warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or that summaries generated by on-device AI will be accurate or complete.

6. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PITHYFEED SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app.

7. Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple through the Mac App Store. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its refund policy; we cannot issue refunds directly.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
